Tax Manager Job in Queensland Australia

With huge growth plans on the horizon our busy Finance department is now looking for an experienced Tax Manager.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will plan, lead and control the effective management of all aspects of Arrow Energy Holdings Pty Ltd’s consolidated group taxation affairs. The Arrow Energy Holdings tax group has resulted from the merger of the ASX listed Arrow Energy Ltd and the Shell CSG entities.

Duties and responsibilities of this role include the following and more:

• Provide an improved understanding of the tax impact on business decisions to improve the cost effectiveness of business, across the complex group structure.

• Ensure the group’s Australian compliance obligations are met as required by law; provide tax advice to the business; undertake strategic planning to optimise the group’s tax position and proactively identify and manage tax related risks and opportunities.

• As the business grows the Tax Manager will continue to build and lead a team of staff who are directly responsible for all tax matters.

• Manage the relationship with the tax advisors to ensure the timely preparation and lodgement of research development tax concession claims for the Australian group, and provision of relevant information to joint venture partners.

To be successful in the role, you will hold:

• Relevant post graduate studies such as a Masters of Taxation/Higher diploma in Taxation membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and/or Taxation Institute of Australia would be highly regarded.

• Significant demonstrated experience in a similar role specialising in corporate taxation both in the taxation division of the Big 4 or a large mid tier accounting firm as well as held a senior position within the tax function of a large corporate group.

• A solid knowledge and experience managing all direct and indirect taxes applicable to a large corporate group and international taxation issues relevant to an Australian corporate group with overseas investments.
