Reporting to

 The Tax Partner directly, and the other Partners as necessary

Qualifications and Experience

The candidate should be a CTA with at least 2 years post qualifying experience in private client taxation.    A good understanding of Self Assessment tax compliance and excellent personal taxation knowledge (Income tax, Capital Gains tax and Inheritance tax) are a must.   A good working knowledge of the UK’s domicile residency rules and the taxation of employee benefits including stock options for internationally mobile employees is helpful.

Job Purpose Summary

To lead and manage multiple tax engagements in order to deliver quality tax services to the Firm’s clients. 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Reviewing  self assessment tax returns for individuals with a wide variety of taxable income, including owner managers, the self employed and partners, property investors and high net worth individuals

Preparing complex self assessment tax returns

Advising on tax planning issues and transactional tax matters, in particular, for non domiciled individuals, internationally mobile employees, individuals leaving or arriving in the UK, and capital gains tax

Review and preparation of forms P11D, P11D(b) and employee claim forms

Advising clients on personal tax related issues, CGT, IHT etc

Assessing and recommending process improvements in the tax compliance and advisory functions, together with ensuring the smooth operation of the annual tax compliance P11D functions

Managing multiple clients, advising on client allocations, setting budgets targets for tax staff, monitoring recovery rates, staff utilization and ensuring timely billing

Building, maintaining and developing in a professional manner, new and existing client relationships

Overseeing tax staff and ensuring compliance with the Firm’s published policies and procedures

Salary market rate (£30 - £55k)
