The Corporate Center supports UBS' s business divisions and regions through provision of Group-level control functions, covering Finance, Legal Compliance and Risk, and shared services including HR, Information Technology, Communications Branding and Supply Demand Management.
QI Compliance is a unit within Group Tax under the lead of the Group Head US Withholding Tax and QI Compliance. Its primary task is the implementation and reviews of a control framework for certain operational tax areas like Qualified Intermediary (QI), US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), possibly in the future as well the EU Savings Directive and others in various locations throughout UBS. The function may also include individual support of local experts within the operations environment, development of training concepts, review of local policies and procedures and the performance of independent controls.
QI Compliance is also involved in general group wide QI projects like the regular external QI Audit. Also, the implementation of FATCA will lead to close involvement of this team with regard to analysis of the new rules and support and monitoring of the responsible teams across business divisions.

Tax Specialist Operational Taxes
The main purpose of this additional position lies in the area of operational taxes, in close cooperation with the Head of QI Compliance. This includes amongst others the following topics:
Analysis of applicable tax law (US, European, local laws) and corresponding regulations;
Support of the locally involved people throughout UBS group in various operational tax related matters;
Participation in cross functional implementation teams regarding new operational tax topics (like FATCA, abolition tax UK/Germany);
Review of local procedures, policies and processes in the operational tax area;
Development of an independent control framework in the operational tax risk area;
Executing independent controls in covered locations and tax areas.
This is an exciting challenge for an experienced professional who is keen on establishing, maintaining and sharing knowledge within his/her professional area of expertise and with a true interest in and flavor for tax-related matters.
Additionally, you should possess a communicative and confident appearance and are willing to work in a collaborative and international team environment. You bring a strong business sense, efficient work style and good time management skills and are an experienced and skilled user of MS Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook) and fulfill ideally the following criteria:
Economic or legal background (preferably Master);
From minimum three up to five years of relevant experiences in an accounting firm, law firm, consulting firm or in the banking industry with know-how in Financial Services and especially in operational taxes (withholding taxes, securities taxes and transaction taxes);
Swiss or international tax expert degree, bar degree and/or US tax LLM would be an advantage;
Experienced in US tax law, EU Savings Directive or the like;
Excellent written and verbal English as well as German skills required (mother tongue or advanced to proficiency level). French, Italian or Spanish language skills are an advantage and can be used in practical work environment.
