COMPANY PROFILE:
Brightoil Group is one of the largest privately owned petroleum enterprise in China. The Company was established in 1992 and was the second largest fuel oil importer in 2009. It is only non-state owned licensee eligible to provide bunkering services in China. Brightoil Group currently has interest in sales, storage of oil and petrochemical, terminal loading/unloading, marine bunkering, land marine transportation, petroleum exploration, gas station bunkering services. With its fully integrated up and down stream businesses and a complete supply chain network, it provides strong support to its customers and partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overall responsible for full aspects of company tax exposures including transfer pricing, sales tax, property tax etc.
- Responsible for federal and state income tax compliance functions and ensuring the accurate and timely filing of tax returns for corporations.
- Responsible tax treatment, planning, withholdings, providing client reporting advice, advising on tax documentation, and acting as the subject matter expert for tax issues in the United States and international entities.
- Working with accountants, auditors and the IRS for company tax reporting, recommending process improvements.
- Account for income taxes, including tax provision preparation, tax account analysis and reconciliation.
- Assist with indirect tax returns, to include sales and use tax returns.
- Monitor changes in tax rates and tax legislation.
- Prepare tax computations, ensure tax compliance, manage tax audit and negotiations with local tax office.
- Ensure efficient processes are in place and adhered to with regard to tax provisioning (documentation), deferred taxation, effective tax rates, tax cash flow forecasts.
- Provide advice on all taxation issues relating to operations and tax impact on business decisions.
- Liaise with regional offices on tax issues and tax audit.
- Actively partnering the Finance team responsible for local statutory accounts in areas of tax reporting and disclosures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- B.S. in accounting with at least 6 years’ experience in federal and state corporate income tax compliance work, preferable gained with NMCs in the Oil Gas industries or “Big 4” CPA firms, CPA preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts and familiarity with certain book/tax differences. Experience with state unitary tax filings.
- Exposure to indirect taxes, specifically sales, property and use tax.
- Familiar with tax return processing systems such as OneSource.
- Able to multi-task, react well to change, possess excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills.
- Polished professional with high energy, positive attitude, and a great work ethic.
- Mandarin-spoken preferred
