The Tax Accounting business unit of Thomson Reuters provides
direct and indirect tax software solutions to the global corporate
market. It is the leading provider of tax compliance software in
the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. The business is investing
heavily in building the Tax Accounting business within the
Asia Pacific region with its launches of the ONESOURCE Corporate
Tax solution in China, Korea and Taiwan in 2011 and further planned
launches in 2012.
Job Summary: You will be responsible for the development and
maintenance of tax content within international versions of the
ONESOURCE software. You will work with tax professionals in
interpreting tax rules and designing and implementing the
corresponding calculations within the ONESOURCE software based on
best practices. This may include development of electronic filing
functionality for applicable jurisdictions. You will be working
with product managers to understand the software requirements and
systems development teams in maintaining and enhancing ONESOURCE.
The role may involve occasional overseas travel within Asia.
Training will be provided.
Primary responsibility: Development and maintenance of the tax
technical content in ONESOURCE
- Interpreting tax rules and monitoring tax legislation changes
for various jurisdictions in Asia Pacific - Designing and implementing tax computation schedules
- Working closely with tax professionals in professional services
firms - Implementing formulae updates and feature requests from
clients - Working with product manager in developing relationships with
tax authorities - Testing developed tax computation schedules and coordination of
testing of tax computation schedules with key clients
Secondary responsibility: Supporting key clients and
sales/implementation
- Assisting support team teams: Assisting in handling complex
client support requests, helping build support team knowledge - Assisting client services and sales teams: Research, training,
marketing, sales events, identification of sales opportunities,
documentation, legal documentation and license management
Skills
Qualifications:
The
candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and service focused
and bring the following skills to the role:
- Educated to
degree level or equivalent - Qualification in tax or
accounting - Experience
working in tax compliance, preferably within a Big 4
firm - Fluency in
English, fluency in other Asian languages preferred but not
essential - Strong IT
skills, in particular in spreadsheet
software - Client
facing - Problem
solving skills - A good team
player and ability to work on own initiative - Previous software development
experience is not required
