Taxation Senior
A successful firm of Accountants based in Dumfriesshire are looking to expand their taxation service and are looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join them on a permanent basis.
Typical duties will be:
Able to carry out all of the tax return and computational tasks.
Technical competence in all areas of income tax
In taking responsibility for their allocation to take an overall approach to the client's financial affairs, not just the job in hand.
Be proactive and raise matters with other departments / fee earners if something arises that you see needs to be done
Be alert to taxation matters, reading articles around the subject to acquire ideas
In all types of correspondence with H M Revenue Customs argue constructively, showing assertiveness where necessary
Generally within the department act on initiative and put forward proposals for improvements if any seen to be needed.
Be able to control, plan and prioritise workload
Compose reports and advisory letters, be able to convey ideas to clients
Ensure all deadlines are met and pull out all the stops if necessary
The ideal candidate will have a number of years experience specialising in Taxation, Qualified CTA would be desirable or a background with HMRC would also be of interest. You will have excellent communication and IT skills.
