The Intelligence Systems Business Unit of SAIC has an opening for a TBMCS-UL Hardware Software Field Service Engineer at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. POSITION SUMMARY: We have a career opening for a TBMCS-UL Hardware Software Field Service Engineer at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. The TBMCS-UL Hardware Software Field Service Engineer's job is the functionality and efficiency of Global Command and Control System (GCCS) systems administration and associated hardware duties. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate must be able to do the following: -Performs the full range of Global Command and Control System (GCCS) systems administration tasks to include Sun Solaris UNIX operating system administration, installation, configuration, and reconfiguration; GCCS software installation and applications server configuration; system performance monitoring and multi-server troubleshooting; periodic database backups, database recovery, loading new databases, reinitializing and reloading databases upon installation of new software version releases; database and application server performance monitoring; database storage allocation; database and server distribution monitoring; maintaining database configuration and server-related parameter tables; and security and user id/duty position management. -Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, validating and implementing critical system patches, and allocating mass storage space. -Interacts with users and evaluates systems to ensure that the customer's requirements are being met. -Schedules, plans, and oversees system upgrades. -Develops functional requirements through interaction with end-users and coordinates with development team on systematic enhancements or changes. -Will provide written documentation on new functional requirements identified and implemented by the local GCCS user community as well as any other technical documentation required by the government. Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: -Bachelor's degree and 1+ years experience. Additional training, technical certification, and/or years experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. -Level II IAT DoD 8570 certifications: Preferably Security+. -Must be a US citizen with a SECRET clearance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -Solaris and Microsoft certifications highly desired.
