Position Description:
Morgan Stanley is looking for a talented developer or verification engineer with a real passion for technology in an agile and complex environment.

This position is situated in a group developing software development lifecycle (SDLC) for the firm: customized tools, processes and infrastructure for a large-scale, diverse (i.e., multiplatform/multi-language) developer group.

The individual will be responsible for actively and systematically determining possible issues before changes are deployed to production as well as exposing unknown gaps in functionality and issues with unanticipated leveraging/usage of the system by end users.
Thus, this role is for a strong technologist with significant experience in software development and verification who can refine the current test process, augment unit and system-level testing with automated verification suites (including black-box and regression tests) and manual testing, and proactively identify issues that might impact other software developers who use the system.

Prior experience in the financial industry is not required; candidates from software and Internet companies are welcome.

Skills Required:
- Highly technical and passionate about SDLC and software quality
- Hands-on software development experience; familiar with the tools of trade for software development and testing
- Proficient in at least one programming language and platform. Multi-year OOP experience in Java or C++ on multiple platforms strongly preferred
- Flexible and adaptable, quick to embrace new SDLC ideas, platforms, and languages
- Goal oriented, with a drive to achieve goals and make an impact
- Good team player within a global group
- Ability to dig beneath the surface to understand how things work, why they are a certain way, and how they can break
- Previous experience as software verification/QA/development lead on a large-scale project is a strong plus
