Description: Teacher Assistant
Job Purpose:
Prepares young children with special needs for meaningful lives by providing assistance in all areas throughout the school day.
Duties:
* Supports teacher in all aspects of student and classroom management.
* Assists with all daily routine.
* Supports instructional plan by preparing and developing teaching aids.
* Assists in preparing materials for lessons.
* Teach small group lessons under teacher supervision.
* Follows directives given by teachers and therapists
* Lead various activities such as art, music, physical education, etc..,
* Presents and reinforces concepts by helping students, individually and in groups, with lesson assignments.
* Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Enhances school's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
