POSITION:

Team Leader

 

DEPARTMENT:     

Manufacturing

 

REPORTING TO:   

Plant Manager


 

SUMMARY:

This is an opportunity for an energetic and creative Team Leader to work with a world class organization committed to being the best at aerospace component manufacturing.  This Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing manpower to ensure production needs are met and to assist their direct supervisor with other duties as required.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·         Compliance with quality system and supporting departmental procedures; ensuring subordinates in department follow same                                                                                

·         Departmental quality control (cost, product quality, delivery)                                                                                  

·         Team building within assigned department or area                                                                                     

·         Training and development

o    as directed by the area supervisor, cross-training within department                                                     

o    skills evaluation and development                                                                  

·         Timely and effective departmental reporting to supervisor and/or plant supervisor (cost, quality, delivery, lean Initiatives, general HR issues and strategy)                                                                      

·         General coordination and participation of specific tasks within the department to meet production requirements in support of company goals

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Completion of high school or high school equivalency; no direct work-related education necessary              

·         Must have a min. of 3 - 5 years of numerically controlled machining experience; preferably experienced with up to 5 axis machines

·         Theoretical technical knowledge of practices, procedures and equipment within a relatively broad scope of the organization               

·         Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, and continuous improvement processes                                           

·         Type of software knowledge required varies depending on area of supervision

·         Strong verbal and written communication; ability to make improvements to job-related processes; openly supportive of company goals and objectives; effective time management skills; effective supervisory skills (ie. performance management)
