Position Description
Background of Collateral Management Department (CMD):
The Collateral Management Department is responsible for exposure monitoring of complex client trading strategies at Morgan Stanley across all OTC Derivatives businesses (Equity, Fixed Income, FX and Commodities) and Repo.

Collateral Management is a global group with offices in London, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong and has a combined staff of approximately 100 individuals with 35 in London.

Job Description:
This opportunity is for a Director level position within the Call Team for the EMEA region. The successful candidate will manage a team of 6 Analysts / Associates and will have responsibility for execution and control of Morgan Stanley's daily exposure management processes for a subset of collateralised relationships.

Function / roles and responsibilities:
The individual will be working in a challenging and fast paced environment within a strong and growing department. The role requires close working relationships with Sales, Trading and Risk desks across Morgan Stanley's global trading infrastructure and the successful individual will need to provide effective communications and presence when dealing with these stakeholders.

The individual will have prior experience that demonstrates their capabilities to take on risk responsibilities and people management. With the high $ values associated with the function and the significant control mandate within the role, the successful candidate will have strong risk and product awareness. The successful candidate will have experience in delivering process improvement and have the leadership capabilities to drive improvements through their team.

This role can be broken down into:
- Responsibility for the day to day control and execution of the daily call process.
- Provision of sound risk management to the process and enforcing the culture of risk management within the team.  
- The development and implementation of collateral support processes for new and often complex products.
- Continuous improvement to the processes in both control and efficiency through both self managed and team driven projects.
- People management and personal development for 6 Analysts / Associates.
- Developing sound client relationships and providing a first point of escalation for client queries.

Skills Required
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent - analytical, financial or mathematically related subject favoured.  
Candidate will have strong, proven experience in OTC Derivative products and ideally the collateral process.
- Experience of taking on risk responsibility and supervision/management of others.
- Demonstration in their past work experience of robust analytical skills, high attention to detail and process improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, being able to communicate clearly and concisely, moderating style and delivery to suit different parties and media.
- Candidate should be able to organise themselves and others efficiently, managing both daily tasks and projects.
- Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work either on their own initiative as well as be a solid team player.
