Team Leader Credit – Private Accounts recruitment

JOB REPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the credit risk assessment for Private Accounts and High Net Worth individuals.

• Approve and/or recommend credits based on a thorough assessment of all the risks in any proposal put up by the Business Unit within the Delegated Lending Authority allocated by Senior Management.

• Ensure no loan losses on credits approved due to poor credit assessment.

• To be well rounded in different sectors of credit risk assessment with an ability to deputize for other TL’s handling other portfolio’s in the event of need.

• Make presentation to the Management Credit Committee or Executive Credit Committee as required.

• Minimize the number of proposals rejected or returned by Credit Committees by ensuring that the filtering of poor or inadequate applications prior to the submission to the Credit Committee.

• Play key role in safeguarding Bank’s integrity on credit risk as pertaining to the portfolio in terms of the bank’s Credit and Risk Appetite Policies.

• Close monitoring of the allocated portfolio to ensure that portfolio loan loss provisions are minimised, if necessary by the identification /restructuring of loans exhibiting incipient signs of impairment.

• Ensure that each Credit proposal identifies the three to four triggers that shall be monitored periodically to ensure that the quality of the Credit Risk underwritten does not deteriorate. For control purposes to ensure that trigger breach is immediately identified and escalated to ensure a proactive remedial intervention before it spirals out of control.

• Ensuring that the average rating of the portfolio does not deteriorate, but rather improve with credits approved and that the new assets booked improve the overall portfolio rating and RAROC.

• Ensure compliance with all external Regulatory Central Bank/Accounting norms and compliance with IAD requirements.

• Work to deliver credit within stipulated service level agreements.

• Work to ensure full satisfaction of internal clients.

• Ensure proper succession planning to fill in leave /absence periods.

• To provide leadership in all aspects of the job including ensuring effective resourcing and, development and performance management to guide Credit Managers in the successful completion of their jobs.

• Develop UAE Nationals as directed by Senior Management.

• Assist in the development of systems and other projects as required.

• Undertake similar or related tasks or duties as directed by Senior Management.

• Ensure a congenial environment given a multicultural work environment.

• Contribute to Credit Policies and Procedures as needed.

• Complete one off projects as allocated by senior management.

Good inter personal skills.

REQUIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

WORK EXPERIENCE

10-15 years in risk assessment in a commercial banking environment with at least 5-8 years in position of Senior account manager where a demonstrable experience base of the exercising of a balanced judgement of credit risk has been proven. Experience in Corporate and project finance, banking rules and regulations and legal environment.

A very good knowledge of written and spoken English is required.

A good command of Excel and Word / MS office is required.

Knowledge of written and spoken Arabic would be an advantage.

A can do and willing attitude

REQUIREMENTS

Associate of the Institute of Banking.

MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL

A University degree in Business / Economics / Finance / Accounts or similar qualification. An MBA is desirable.
