The UK's leading premium express delivery company, providing guaranteed Next Day Timed delivery services across the UK, Ireland and Worldwide, our client operates over 2,500 vehicles from a national network of Depots focusing on exceeding Customers’ expectations at all times.
Reporting to the Depot Manager, the successful Team Manager will be a key member of the Depot Management Team, covering all operational aspects of the shift to meet daily service, quality and cost targets in accordance with the business plan.
Responsible for a team (including Operations Support, Drivers, depot Employees and Team Leaders) you will ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and external regulatory requirements including Health and Safety. Additionally you will plan resources to meet forecast demand and cover in Depot Managers absence where necessary.
Key Tasks Responsibilities will include:
• Depot Performance
• Managing shift operations
• Meet customer requirements including managing complaints
• Implement contingency plans to manage service disruption
• Assess operational risks
• Monitor costs
• Enforce standard operating procedures within your team, including health and safety policies.
• Quality and Improvement
• Provide clear direction and lead by example
• Cascade communication from Depot Manager
• Continuous development of all staff through appraisal
• Maintain high standard of vehicles, uniforms, and staff behaviour to reflect clients Values.
• People Management
• Address any employee relations issues in a timely manner
• Involve team in continuous improvement and encourage ideas
• Ensure adequate training and development plans
