JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Account Manager will work directly with technical teams at T-Mobile and Clearwire focusing on resolving highly complex technical issues on devices, maintenance release support, RF engineering and software troubleshooting and resolution during product development efforts and communicating status and analysis in clear, easy to understand follow up. This role is highly visible to the technical and product development teams. It requires engaging with customers from a sales engineering perspective.
ROLES RESPONSIBILITIES
-Drive a technical project to a successful resolution, solution, summary, and suggestion and provide reasons for improving future products
-Take complete ownership of technical troubleshooting and low level device issues by identifying the problem, working with 3rd party vendors, internal teams and the principal product manager
-Work closely with ZTE China engineers to provide instruction to team members on lab testing best practices, and how professional grade documentation/analysis styles are developed for North American wireless carriers.
-Provide sales engineering support and ensure the team is informed on technical problems.
-Support maintenance releases, attend post-launch support weekly calls, communicate software and hardware running changes between the Seattle team and the ZTE product line team in China
-Ability to quickly and accurately find issues on the devices in development, and make recommendations for resolving the problem immediately
-Ability to take apart hardware to investigate antennae design, board construction and radio placement
-Recording, tracking and reading log files; analysis and follow-up on findings to the principal PM and team will be necessary
JOB REQUIREMENTS
-Minimum 5+ years experience in wireless
-Carrier device certification experience with 2G, 3G or 4G devices
-Experience with mobile technology – wireless handset operating systems ie; Android OS, Windows Mobile and Win 7, iOS, Palm WebOS, etc.
-Excellent track record of successful and timely delivery of technical projects and experience planning and executing complex, multidisciplinary projects in a highly-distributed global and multicultural organization
-Experience in a customer-facing technical account management, solutions architecture, solutions engineering, or sales engineering, etc.
-Knowledge of the carrier requirements is a must, linking the requirement to the device behavior is key
-Experience growing existing customer relationships
-Very good understanding of mobile technical concepts, programming languages, operating systems, GSM protocol and server architectures
-Some knowledge in worldwide regulations and certification for wireless systems
-Good technical writing, editing and proofreading skills
-Speak, read, write Mandarin, Simple or Complex Chinese a plus
-Experience working with agile-based project management methodology or Six Sigma a plus
-Working knowledge of leading mobile devices chipsets from Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Broadcom, and Texas Instruments, etc. a plus
-Bachelor degree in EE or CS required
