Technical Accounting recruitment
This is a key appointment in the central technical team responsible for developing and communicating Group Accounting Policy. You will be involved in the Group’s implementation of IFRS impacting financial instruments, leasing and revenue recognition. You will also support the bank’s lobbying efforts to influence the drafting of accounting standards, working with the technical committee, subject matter experts, finance professionals and the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the bank’s views on new accounting issues are developed and communicated
- Providing advice to ensure that accounting standards are adhered to
- Support understanding of current accounting policies and communicate new developments affecting financial reporting and their impacts on the business
- Advise management on the policy implications and IFRS / US GAAP differences to support communication with investors and analysts
- Assist senior management on technical matters to ensure external reporting meets all legal, accounting and regulatory requirements
Experience and skills:
- ACA with finance sector PQE gained in a large bank or professional services firm
- Financial reporting and technical accounting knowledge
- Understanding of banking products and capital requirements
- Track record in working to high quality standards and tight deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Technical rigour, influencing abilities and problem solving skills
