CIBER, Inc. is currently seeking a Technical Architect in Cypress, CA to define the technical and architectural solutions for the Document Management Systems (DMS) group and to interface between the Business Development and the Solution Development teams with respect to defining the solution and creating the overall systems architecture in response to various business needs. This person will also define the technical specifications for underlying technologies (i.e., computing platforms, systems architecture, systems software and other utility tools), work with vendors and provide the required information to the stakeholders. This individual will also provide the leadership and technical direction for the integrated set of applications from different groups to make them work together. Responsibilities Include: Overall responsibility for guiding and directing the evolution and integration of new applications. In collaboration with software development teams, implementing and maintaining different existing document management architecture as systems are expanded to accommodate the business needs. Developing roadmaps that implement components of the architecture. Assisting project teams with new component implementation. Identifying gaps in architecture implementation and resolving issues as required. Conducting proof-of-concept exercises for new architecture components. Performing software evaluations. Providing consulting services to individual projects regarding architecture and standards. Continuously improving our Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Architecture methodology and processes. Communicating and driving the architectural vision among all constituents. Maintaining an understanding of the healthcare industry and adapting to trends/needs within the industry. Working across other architecture groups within the company to promote standardization across the enterprise. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with relevant experience; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of IT experience in Enterprise Level Information Systems architecture and development. 5+ years of experience in the systems planning / architecture space. .NET and Java experience. Standard based technologies, like J2EE based architecture and development. Experience with N-tier architecture consisting of Web tier, Messaging tier, Application tier, Database tier, File Server tier, Image Capture tier, ETL tier, etc. Knowledgeable in contemporary technologies (Linux / Unix, Windows servers) and n-tier information system architectures, enterprise content management (ECM), and relational databases (RDBMS). Experience across a large number of IT platforms and products desired. Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with Enterprise Content Management systems, like IBM FileNet P8, Oracle UCM, and EMC Documentum and Document Science. Good command of architecture tools including: Casewise or related tools. Experience with application lifecycle management and related tools. Experience with Source, Build, Deployment (Configuration / Code Management) using Subversion. Proven ability to collaborate with both technology and business professionals. Ability to look across systems and identify common patterns and relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, evidenced by the ability to communicate complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences in writing and verbally. Proven facilitation and negotiation skills. Self-starting and self-directed attitude. Knowledge of healthcare industry highly desirable.
