As Ladbrokes continues to grow we are seeking a Technical Architect to join our team based at our Head Office. The position of Technical Architect is responsible for assisting the Chief Architect and team to drive the conceptualization and implementation of the overall Technical architecture at Ladbrokes. The position takes ownership of the direction, vision, standards and strategic objectives for Technology Infrastructure across various Business domains, alongside the Information and Business Application architecture teams. The jobholder will identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency optimization and innovation with technology that can further enable the Channel and IT strategy. They will play a strong lead, alongside the Channel Management function, in driving this through to delivery.

Key tasks will be to help structure the technical architecture by aligning technology to the emerging capabilities, governance, business processes and Business Information. The Technical architecture considers all actors external and internal to Ladbrokes (including its customers, suppliers, and regulators), to ensure that interactions in and out of the enterprise are captured.

Desirable skills (a working knowledge of at least 5 of the following):

• Experience of leading-edge eCommerce packages e.g. ATG, IBM WebSphere eCommerce, Hybris, Venda, Amazon Web Services
• Exposure to Search engine technology e.g. Endeca, Fast, Autonomy, FredHopper
• Experience of Internet technologies e.g. Content Management, Search Engine Optimisation, Affiliate Management, Recommendation engines, Web Analytics
• A good understanding of emerging technology trends e.g. Mobile, Tablets, NFC
• A background in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
• Knowledge of Enterprise Service Bus Service Oriented Architecture
• Online gaming or gambling
• Master Data Management and Information Lifecycle Management
• Customer Relationship Management applications or Campaign Management and Customer Loyalty systems
• Social Media tools, Social Monitoring and Community Forum software
• Operating Technology at a Global scale
• ITIL v3

Skills in the following areas would also be of benefit:
The candidate must be able to demonstrate Previous experience good technical skill in some of the following areas:
• TCP/IP principles
• L4-7 Load balancing and SSL Offload
• SAN, NAS ISCSI concepts
• MS Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008, Including Clustering and AD
• Knowledge of at least one UNIX/LINUX OS
• Programming concepts in at least one language
• DNS/BIND
• HTTP/FTP (including Caching and reverse proxy)
• Firewalls and IPSec/VPN
• An understanding of database principles
• General virtualization concepts.
