Technical Assistant - FT
Primary responsibilities include providing telephone user software support to new and existing Internet and Digital TV subscribers. Assist prospective subscribers with questions concerning HickoryTech's service offerings and compatibility issues. Assist in maintaining customer support database and software support material. This position will work primarily week days or weekends from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Minimum qualifications include 2 years experience with personal computers required, including Internet experience. Knowledge of standard Internet services including SMTP, POP3, DNS, and FTP. Experience with Windows 95 - 7, MAC OS 7.0 +, TCP/IP, and/or PPP. Proficient with all versions of Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous customer service experience. Knowledge of all Microsoft and Macintosh operating systems.
