Client facing role
World leading provider of Investment Banking Trading Risk Management systems is looking to expand their Client Services / Implementation team in Sydney. As a Technical Consultant you will play a key role throughout Systems Implementations, Upgrades / Enhancement initiatives, Pre-Sales Product Demonstrations, Pilot activities and also Client Support.
In this client facing role you will provide technical expertise to leading Financial Institutions, and work closely with some of the smartest Trading and Risk Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers and Finance/Quant Engineers in the Australian market.
The role
- Provide Consultancy and Product Support internally and to clients
- Gain a thorough understanding of the clients implementation requirements
- Define/Scope Configuration and Interfacing efforts
- Set up and configure the system and third party products
- Troubleshoot and testing installations and upgrades
- Install products and customised enhancements on client site and provide support to client throughout
- Develop customised solutions modules using a range of tools
- Design and Implement Interfaces between core and third party applications (such as Murex, Calypso and Fidessa etc)
- Defining data required for client's systems
- Deliver training to the client
- Proactively take a lead throughout product demonstrations through pre-sales activities
Experience and Skills required:
- Familiar with Database essentials
- Systems Interfacing or Data migrations between systems using mapping tools
- Good knowledge of Unix commands and Unix application installation and shell scripting
- Sounds understanding of the financial markets
- Exposure to Risk Management - Market Risk, Credit Risk etc
- The ability to work with complex trading or risk software with minimal supervision
- Exposure to Financial Analytics and Market Data
- Knowledge of Fixed Income products, Derivatives etc and the underlying data associated would a distinct advantage
- Middleware, Web based delivery and Java component exposure would also be an advantage
- Full Systems Development/Implementation lifecycle
- Strong time management skills - ability to manage own work in line with project schedules
- Sound documentation and communication skills
- Exposure to systems such as Calypso, Murex, Wall Street Systems, Fidessa, Markit etc is strongly preferred.
