Technical Business Development Manager Job in Cardiff, Wales UK

A great opportunity to join a progressive waste management company which specialises in hazardous waste and Total Waste Management services for major organisations, primarily within the manufacturing sector, with typical annual account values between £30k to £300k.
THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working with a well established and proven sales model, the role will entail all aspects of business generation with a consultative approach from medium to large multi waste stream producers, including:-
- Prospect account generation and analysis
- Site waste audits and surveys
- Liaison with colleagues to define most suitable options to be offered
- Proposal writing and presentation at Board level
- Gaining contract award followed by service roll out
- Sales management reporting against defined sales and contribution targets and KPI’s
SKILLS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Degree qualified in industrial chemistry, environmental sciences or a technical discipline
- Ideally with a minimum of five years experience working within technical manufacturing.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, being able to construct and present clear and compelling business cases
- Negotiation at all levels of an organisation, especially at Board level
- Previous sales experience not necessary as long as the candidate has strong communication skills, is enthusiastic and self motivated.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Previous experience working within manufacturing either in a technical role or within operations preferred
- Inquisitive and incisive with a lateral thinking attitude
- Clear communicator with the aptitude to gain trust and confidence of both clients and colleagues
- Aware of attention to detail
- Able to work unsupervised and to successfully complete tasks within tight deadlines. Will adapt comfortably working both independently and as part of a team
- Able to multi task and to simultaneously manage a portfolio of prospect accounts at different stages of the sales cycle
- IT literate, within Word, Excel and Powerpoint
