Technical Director, Feeds Platform Development recruitment

We are seeking a Technical Director to join our Feeds Platform Development team. The role demands a mixture of solid technology leadership, staff leadership, cross functional leadership and execution focused on platform delivery.
Primary responsibilities:
- Evaluate, recommend and build the technology stack for the Feeds Platform.
- Manage and lead a direct team of managers responsible for 50+ developers in multiple geographic locations.
- Develop a longer term vision for the development organization, rationalizing geographic and full-time/contractor staffing mixtures. Develop and execute short and long term staff development plans. Performance, Scale and Stability are key quality attributes of the platform and the candidate should live and breathe these characteristics.
- As the technology leader for the Feeds Platform the candidate will develop and maintain a short term, medium term and long term technology strategy that takes into account emerging trends in database, ETL and distribution technology space.
- Work closely with the Feeds product managers to develop and refine platform roadmaps.
- The Feeds Platform is a central part of the Investment Management Product strategy and the candidate should be able to represent the platform to Thomson Reuters clients - influence central strategies and roadmaps, and help make critical decisions about the role of the Feeds Platform.

Qualifications
- Strong financial services background and previous experience with building feed products with proven performance, scale and stability
- Previous experience working with big data and/or large data warehouses
- Solid experience with relational database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server and knowledge of column oriented database technologies is an advantage
- Experience with either C++, .NET technologies or Java
- Ability to go deep into technology including running design reviews and code reviews
- Experience with ingestions tools such as Informatica, Ab Initio, Talend, Pentaho or SSIS will be an advantage
- Experience working on Linux/Unix based systems will be an advantage
- Experience managing agile teams with scrum will be an advantage
