B/E Aerospace, Inc., located in Everett, WA has the following position to fill: Lead Field Support Technician SUMMARY Supervises and performs service activities associated with installing, maintaining and servicing B/E Aerospace products at the aircraft manufacturing facilities or customer site. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Provides support to customers in solving technical problems incurred in the installation or operation of company products; consults with customers regarding pre and post-installation problems; may review customer equipment interface requirements. 2. Conducts orientation and training of customer personnel in the technical operation and maintenance of equipment; may conduct technical seminars and training for custom or company personnel, as well as informal on-the-job training for other field service staff members and customers. 3. Troubleshoots and diagnoses system/equipment interface problems during installations. 4. Performs preventive maintenance, modifications and field changes to installed equipment as necessary. 5. Conducts startup, cut-over and check-out activities on newly installed systems. 6. Prepares operations and malfunction reports and associated documentation. 7. Performs modification and field change to installed equipment. 8. Assists engineering in determining and solving equipment design problems, evaluating product performance and conducting field trials. 9. Provides support in the conduct and performance of equipment/system acceptance testing following installation. 10. Performs preventive maintenance, modifications and field changes to installed equipment as necessary. 11. May provide work leadership to lower level field support staff. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises nonexempt associates and/or local contractors. Carries out assigned supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities incude training associates, planning, assigning and directing work. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Receives operational objectives and assignments from local management. Acts independently while supervising associates following established practices, policies and procedures set forth by B/E Aerospace and the associated aircraft. JOB COMPLEXITY Works on assignments that are extremely complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and six-plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
