Technical Financial Controller – Group Treasury recruitment
The Strategic Transactions Group Financial Reporting team currently comprises a number of qualified accountants and is responsible for the monthly management reporting, quarterly statutory accounts reporting, Basel II reporting, GL substantiation, preparation of dividend schedules and annual statutory financial statements for approximately 100 companies.
Key responsibilities:
• Preparation and analytical review of Monthly management reports.
• Preparation and review of statutory reports.
• Preparation of detailed quarterly variance packs for senior management.
• Dealing with queries and ensuring changes on disclosures fed down from Group are accurately reflected and reported;
• Preparing and posting month end adjustments and re-classes.
• Reconciliation of inter-company balances;
• Ensuring monthly and quarterly files are completed for review on timely basis;
• Review of dividend schedules before submission to boards;
• Maintaining and improving existing reporting processes including internal controls and SOX documentation;
• Responsible for submission of Basel II packs quarterly;
• Monitoring and clearing fee bookings in local ledgers to appropriate reporting lines;
• Providing sign off and evidence on GL substantiation
• Liaising with internal and external auditors and also internal SOX control team;
• Ensuring systems and processes are updated, where required, to support implementation of new products.

Key attributes:
• Qualified accountant (or overseas equivalent), preferably with banking experience within a Treasury area
• Knowledge of IAS 32, IAS 39 and IFRS 7.
• Enthusiastic, willingness to learn and grow in the role.
• Meticulous and detailed analytical review skills.
• Good communicator at all levels.
• Confident and able to develop strong relationships with colleagues.
• Team player.
• Methodical, able to work to strict monthly deadlines.
• Excel, Access, Oracle, Business Objects and SAP B/W applications skills desirable.
