Technical Instructor

Upon successful contract award, this position would support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Keyport/Bangor Washington. This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The successful candidate will coordinate, monitor and maintain the Depot Long and Short Range training programs applicable to HWT and LWT torpedo programs, combat systems, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Aviation Systems Command (NAVAIR), Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE) Level 1, Controlled work and other Depot product lines as well as identified profession development processes/programs. Maintain the established Depot Common Continuous Training program which requires comprehensive knowledge of training processes and training program administration. This knowledge must be applicable to both heavyweight, lightweight torpedoes, Combat system, NAVAIR, Subsafe and other product lines processed in the Depot. It also requires knowledge of training requirements, training systems, training delivery, and training effectiveness measurement over a broad area, including torpedo systems and associated test equipment. Possess the experience and ability to develop, coordinate, plan, conduct and maintain Depot Long and Short Range training programs. Have experience and ability to effectively assess training effectiveness by exam administration, training plan completion, meeting Division goals, feedback and self-assessments.

Required Skills:
1. Exclusive US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance immediately upon hiring. Failure to obtain some form of Secret clearance upon hiring will result in immediate termination.

2. Education required: High School diploma/GED plus 4 years related experience

3. Experience in planning, developing and maintaining training curriculum and delivering training in various formats for both individual and team training

4. Knowledge and experience creating curriculum tests and testing programs

5. Knowledge and experience to conduct training effectiveness assessments and analyze the resulting data to develop actions to improve training effectiveness

6. Experience using MS Office Suite/MS Outlook and other computer based applications

Preferred Skills:
1. Additional Education: Associate Degree with 2 years related experience

2. Knowledge of heavyweight and lightweight torpedoes, combat systems, NAVAIR, Subsafe and other product lines processed in the Torpedo Depot

3. Knowledge and experience with Keyport Depot Quality Assurance Manual, Torpedo Depot Training Program and the Torpedo Common Continuous Training program

4. Knowledge of and experience with Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process including theoretical and practical aspects of educational technology and the critical analysis involved in the development of instructional systems
