Driving through the development of a multi-million pound mission critical Java JEE super-high throughput, high availability system; one of the biggest and most complex applications of its type in the world.
In this 'hands-off' role, you will be the pivotal technical specialist of the programme facilitating the build, solving design blockages with the Architectural Team and driving initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity in the development and integration teams.
You will participate in a software engineering transformation and technical delivery practices, driving the department toward an approach that is capable of taking one of the bank's core IT assets into the future.
You will be joining at the very early stages of the programme life-cycle and making a major contribution to the introduction of best practices, the definition of quality standards and recommending the best use of tools
You will be an expert in techniques to facilitate high availability, throughput and resilience for critical operational capabilities, and additionally have the following skills and experience.
Business Skills and Experience required:
Financial Services, code review, design review, setting standards and best practise, off-shore teams, transformation, management, leadership, strategic, negotiation, presentation.
Technical skills:
Java JEE (Hands off), JPA, OOD, high-availability systems, high-throughput systems, Agile, Distributed Software Modelling, Web Services, Java Beans, WSDL (WAS), Enterprise Design Patterns, UML.
