Technical Support Engineer
Aerospace - Aftercare Customer Support - Mechanical Components/Systems
Location: South West
Salary: up to £35k + benefits
As an integral member of dynamic and responsive team you will provide technical support to customers on all of the internal products, systems and assemblies.
Working closely with internal experts you will you provide reactive assistance to a diverse range of aircraft issues, providing solutions from simple component replacement to full system maintenance and recommending subsequent airline action.
You may provide an instant response or conduct technical investigation to determine the right solution. This root cause analysis may involve initial fault identification and the implementation of interim action. Working in a structured and methodical process you will quickly work through to a safe solution, substantiating all decisions with clear documented decision making.
In addition you will manage tasks and deliverables to support the maintainability analysis requirements in the development phase of new programmes.
Candidate
Ideally educated in mechanical or aeronautical/aerospace engineering you will have an extensive understanding of aircraft mechanical systems incorporating hydraulics and have a practical appreciation for aircraft components and their properties, preferably actuations.
You may have worked in airline or aircraft technical services, emanate from a development or maintenance engineering background or have an understanding of materials properties.
You will have excellent problem solving skills along with a clear customer focus and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
You will be proficient in writing technical documentation and presenting technical reports and be flexible in your working approach to provide uninterrupted customer support on a rota basis.
The successful candidate will be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
