Technical Manager Job in London, London UK
Our client is a leading global manufacturer and marketer of base oils with particular emphasis given to Group III base stocks. They wish to recruit a Technical Manager whose primary focus will be the provision of internal technical services and leadership for their base oils and finished lubricants projects worldwide, but primarily focusing on the European and the UK markets. This is a home based role covering the UK and Europe.
You will be a seasoned technologist with an extensive background in developing finished lubricants, such as engine oils. You will need to have extensive knowledge of base oils and finished lubricants and the technologies behind them and have the capability to drive the development of finished lubricants formulation using the client's base oils and working in collaboration with additive companies.
You will have an extensive knowledge of the technical trends within the global base oils markets and be able to assess their impact on the company's products. You will have a good awareness of the technical issues of customers including the major automotive OEMs for both passenger car and heavy duty applications. You will actively participate in key industry committees including ACEA and ATIEL and experience of working in such environments would be desirable. A strategic thinker, you will be able to assist with the strategic direction for the company's products and work together with the marketing and sales teams to promote the company's products within global markets. This role requires a person who is well known and respected in the market place who is an excellent communicator and is confident in speaking and giving technical presentations at major industry events.
