Technical Planner
Within Kaiser Permanente's Systems Integration (SI) team, the KP HealthConnect Production Support team ensures all day to day operational needs to ensure systems are available and fully functional, as well as providing support for all delivery work requested by the regions and supporting national teams for ongoing code releases, upgrades and other maintenance activities. We are looking for an individual who will perform the duties of a day to day Release Planner. The Release Planner will coordinate and manage day to day delivery work for KP HealthConnect. This will include documenting requests, preparing implementation plans, engaging resources, ensuring requests meet SLAs, are compliant and correct factoring in all interdependencies. Release Planners will be responsible for assigning the work and following it through to completion with appropriate turnover to the customer. Essential Functions: - Reviewing all inbound requests and processing accordingly - Tracking of all requests to completion - Development and facilitation of plans for complex requests and upgrades - Provide implementation plans for production upgrades requiring outages - Responsible for RFC coordination from receipt to execution. This includes making sure RFC is compliant, resources are assigned and RFCs are approved. - Provide RFC status Reports and Metrics - Attend regional meetings and provide cover for Regional Technology Managers as required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, EE or MIS or 4 additional years of related experience -8 years minimum experience as a team lead in an IT or software development environment, preferably in a planning function, for an enterprise application showing progressively responsible career growth - 5 years minimum deep process knowledge of software development and release functions - 3 years minimum working knowledge of Remedy (Change Management Tool) -Please note that this position has special features which requires employees to be on call 24/7 to support Kaiser's critical environment. - Excellent communication skills - Track record and penchant for developing processes and mentoring lower level resources - Prior work experience in a complex, matrixed organizational structure Preferred qualifications: - Experience with Epic systems a plus - Healthcare background would be beneficial
