Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is the web service that is pioneering cloud computing by providing resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It gives any developer complete control of their computing resources and lets them run on Amazonâ??Ã?ôs proven computing environment. We are continuing to build the team in order to expand on our feature set and global presence, and manage our rapidly increasing scale. Amazon EC2 is seeking a strong technical program manager to lead and deliver programs related to the scaling and evolution of our network infrastructure, as well as global expansion. In this role, you will work closely with software development, network infrastructure, and product teams across the entire organization. The ideal candidate will be clearly passionate about the large opportunity that Amazon EC2 presents and about web services in general. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical field (e.g. computer science, engineering) - Strong technical skills, particularly in networking and software engineering - Experience leading cross-functional teams - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Ability to comfortably work in a fast paced, often ambiguous environment. - Ability to interact and work closely with technical owners, product managers, and upper level management - Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints - Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities - Must be a quick learner, able to come up to speed on any type of technical project and credibly assist the team - Proven problem solving skills - Strong organizational skills - Able to influence others who are not in your reporting chain Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: - Graduate degree in technical field. - Deep networking knowledge - Strong systems engineering skills
