Technical Project Manager – Finance IT recruitment
The Corporate Centre Finance IT team are looking to hire a highly skilled Development / Project Manager to take on the challenge and opportunity of working in the Data Domain team. As the ideal candidate you have an in-depth understanding of Front Office products, finance process, control functions, architecture and processes.
The Data Domain Team is responsible for all sources of data into the Investment Bank's Finance arena including the General Ledger, PL Reporting, and Regulatory reporting. The team also have responsibility for a number of the core data sourcing applications, supporting data maintenance/control applications and the Global General Ledger.
The successful candidate will be aligned to the IB Data domain within Group Finance IT and have the following responsibilities:
- Act as the link between the business and the development teams to bring a detailed understanding of finance process and data to solution design process(functional and technical)
- To conceptualise, design and assist in the improvement of existing systems
- To formalise, articulate, deliver and employ software architecture, design and development processes and associated artefact templates
- To utilise your technical experience to mentor and provide consistent development standards to the development teams that you will interact with
- Work will business analysts to determine the optimal design for data sourcing requirements and their technical delivery
- Design and implement the control model across the front to back finance
- Implement and enforce design standards and quality gates to ensure future designs are all TFM aligned
- Support the technical design and development of future feeds
- Assist in impact assessment for future finance change requests
- Work with the Data Architect to determine the strategic approach to Data Sourcing
- Work with the Data Architect and Integration Framework team to define and enhance Lingua protocols
- Work with development leads to define development standards and approach for all key Data projects
- To provide guidance and mentoring to the analysts on the design and development teams on an on-going basis
- To provide consultancy and be a sounding board for new ideas from the business and IT managers
Key skills requirements for the role include:
- Financial product knowledge covering equities and fixed income as well as cash and derivatives
- Strong understanding for the fundamentals of Finance functions
- Proven ability as a business and systems analyst
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to drive consensus
- Knowledge and experience of working of Investment Banking financial accounting, control and reporting concepts and their underlying business processes
- Strong communication skills (including reporting and frequent interaction with business users)
- Ability to communicate requirements in a clear manner which can be easily interpreted by all those within the program team
- Experience working as part of medium to large, enterprise change programs across the development project lifecycle
- Knowledge of core development lifecycle concepts, including project phases, project deliverables, and feature prioritization
- Detailed technical knowledge of at least two of the following (Oracle, Informatica, ETL tools, Reporting and BI tools, Cognos, BusinessObjects, Java)
- Ability to understand quickly both the functional and technical components of a system, so as to define system requirements
- An ability to create consensus
- Experience working on development teams using Agile Development Methodology techniques
Additional desirable characteristics and skills include:
- Detail knowledge and experience of enterprise financial accounting, control, and reporting systems
- Experience using collaboration tools
- Experience working with development management tools, specifically Jira
- Product control expertise
- Data sourcing and controls expertise
