Technical Project Manager-Tier 1 Investment Bank-IT Risk Engine

Tier 1 Investment Bank seeks delivery focussed technology project manager to work on a number of business critical work streams within Risk IT. 

The senior Project Manager will be able to demonstrate that they have led, delivered and rescued a number of high profile technology projects. The Risk Engine sits across all areas of the business apart from FX so broad business knowledge is necessary. You will liaise on a day to day basis with the Front Office Risk Team-so a similar background would be useful though not essential.

80% of the work streams in this program are business critical and therefore have backing from the board and are high visibility projects. You will have a solid background as working as a technology project manager in an Investment Bank. You will work closely with senior development managers who will coordinate a number of development teams on and offshore-and as such it is essential that you have worked closely with software teams previously (ideally in Java)

Experience with Risk and P n L is nice to have but not essential, though it is important to understand your own business area in detail and be able to demonstrate this. You will have a senior technologist to work alongside you so the emphasis sways toward your business knowledge however a strong technical background is also essential.

You must have significant experience and a track record of combining traditional and Agile/Lean delivery approaches essentially in a financial services/banking environment. The project manage must be able to demonstrate that they are a proven expert in identifying potential sources of risk and their impact on project success. Ideally you will have experience in a management role with PL accountability
