The Technical Sales Consultant (TSC) position has a unique but essential role in the Government Solutions organization. The primary purpose of the TSC is to increase sales and revenue to the Government Solutions channel through pre-sales technical and engineering support. The span of responsibility ranges from prospecting for opportunities to ensuring services are ordered and implemented correctly. The position will support both Defense and Civilian Sales Centers, focusing on the acquisition of both Core and Professional Services opportunities within all assigned agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Prospecting - the TSC will meet with designated agencies to: 1) understand their unique business needs; 2) educate the customer on ATT products and services; 3) identify potential ATT sales opportunities; and 4) discuss how ATT can solve agencies' business needs.

Qualification - the TSC will: 1) ensure that designated agencies have a real and funded business need; 2) ATT possesses the products and services to meet the business need; 3) evaluates competitive landscape for providing the products and services ensuring that ATT possesses a solution that is technically competitive and cost effective; and 4) plays a key role in the qualification review.

Technical Solutions Development - the TSC will: 1) design, develop and document the technical solution; 2) present the solution and the value proposition; 3) persuade designated agencies that ATT offers the most compelling solution; 4) work with key subcontractor partners to complete a solution; 4) develop proposal responses; 5) answer technical customer objections; and 6) contribute to all customer solution testing and demonstrations.

Required Skills:
-Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or other equivalent engineering/technical discipline.
-Eight (8) or more years working with data network technologies to include: IP, MPLS, VPN, VoIP, IP Security and Ethernet/Optical networks. Solid knowledge and understanding of routing protocols, data center consolidation, managed network services and professional services preferred.
- Two (2) or more years working in pre-sales environment with focus on solution selling
- Solid written and oral presentation skills
- Knowledge of vendor equipment: Cisco, Juniper, Avaya, Brocade, etc
