Technical Sales Director
Works with Business Development Directors meeting prospective OEM customers to define, analyze, and document complex customer requirements and to develop and communicate the winning solution with focus on the Verio Hosted Zimbra messaging product suite.
Job Requirements:
Special Skills
- Seven years of sale engineering or solutions architect experience demonstrating complex solution design skills and an emphasis on messaging technology, which includes three years of Zimbra Administration and/or sales.
- Technology and/or distribution licensing, contract negotiations, and vendor management experience required.
- Experience building collaborative solutions with customers. Ability to build effective working relationships (internally/externally), establishing credibility among a wide and demanding client group. Must have very persuasive presentation skills and demonstrate the ability to form trusted relationships quickly.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio
- Highly developed organizational and planning skills, and written/verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and presentation skills which include: experience building, evaluating and clearly presenting complex business models is critical.
- Extensive knowledge of Hosting platform and technology, APIs, Telecom and/or internet; Zimbra, Zimbra Platform, Zimbra Customer Client Software and Zimbra Zimlet development.
Duties
- Identifies potential partnerships, joint ventures and marketing arrangements consistent with business goals and works directly with all levels of management within strategic clients to develop implementation strategies and support. Conveys Verio’s capabilities and expertise to the prospective customers in such a manner that maximizes Verio’s chances to secure new business.
- Meets with prospective OEM customers to define customer requirements and communicate Verio solutions and capabilities. Identifies and qualifies third party suppliers necessary to fill any “gaps” in the Verio solution as matched against customer requirements Solutions may require the combination of Verio and third party products and services to complete the solution.
- Initiates and completes proposals, presentations, terms conditions, negotiations and execution for agreements. Conducts kick-off meetings to define project scope, milestones, and timeline.
- Develops, documents, and presents Verio’s unique solutions for each prospective OEM customer. Works across Verio organizations to create these solutions and secures each organizations consensus for supporting the solution.
- Serves as an extension of the sales and marketing organization and participates in the development of strategies around distribution, target market segments, customer lifecycle management, lead generation, product development, competitive analysis, pricing, cost reduction, and other areas which may drive the need for partnerships to fill out Verio’s go to market capabilities.
- Manages on-going relationships with partners, vendor and vendor relations on outsourced work.
- Provides senior management with status of projects and site development work. Monitors progress of projects.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
