Technical Sales Director
Responsible for Commercial Aircraft marketing/sales activities and achievement of bookings targets for specific accounts as assigned by the department head.
Includes technical investigation and specification of customer requirements; development and execution of account/program sales strategy; price and contract negotiation, and hand-over of a clearly defined program to program management for execution.
Develops technical requirement definition; bid analysis of work breakdown structure, support development for design direction and solutions; engineering sequence and schedule planning.
Duties also may include:
Coordinates with internal departments as required to ensure capacity is available when negotiating program time frames; ensures that orders are passed over to program management, engineering and/or operations with clearly defined technical and commercial requirements.
Defines product features, benefits and competitive advantages; material specifications; engineering, certification and schedule requirements and constraints; acts as technical and program management representative on standard commercial aircraft programs up to initial technical coordination meeting (ITCM).
Schedules appointments with customers, travels to work sites, and makes technical sales calls.
Develops sales strategies and key objectives for assigned customers and programs in conjunction with supervisor.
Leads responses to RFQs, ensuring best technical and commercial solutions are used; quotes prices and negotiates pricing within agreed program sign-off limits; negotiates general terms agreements (GTAs) with legal support as required.
Attends sales and marketing meetings and training as required.
Completes periodic sales reports including opportunities and key objectives as required.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and minimum 7 years related experience, technical Airbus experience to include, fuselage, wide body cabin interiors/systems, and cargo conversions. Certification and regulatory knowledge highly desired. Demonstrated program and engineering leadership, Travel approximately 50%;
