Technical Sales Specialist Job in Pensacola, Florida US

The Technical Sales Specialist (GI Specialty Sales) will promote products and services to physicians, staff and all decision-makers related to the products' usage by performing the following duties:

Design a plan to effectively impact doctors listed on provided “call plan”.

Identify new doctors and qualified leads to be added to the “call plan” as needed.

Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to promote pharmaceutical products and laboratory services. Frequency and distance of travel will be dictated by business needs.

Educates physicians and physician's staff on the value of the company’s products and services for patient care.

Reviews test results format with physician to enhance understanding of the company's technology.

Explains billing and insurance procedures to customer’s staff using knowledge of product pricing and communicate with the National Account Manager as needed.

Prepares and submits timely reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

Works with Technical Service Representatives and Sales Analyst to keep account activities, client database and literature up to date.

Enters sales data for current and prospective customers into company computer database.

Promptly identifies and investigates customer concerns and communicates with home office customer services representatives to solve customer problems.

Demonstrates an understanding of the pharmaceutical sample process including how to receive, distribute and reconcile sample allocations.

Provides customer feedback and communicates with sales management.
Attends trade shows as requested.

Attends and participates in initial and supplemental internal training programs.

Coordinates medical education programs with internal staff or external consultants based on corporate, regional and district directives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with an emphasis in the life sciences preferred; minimum 2 years sales experience in pharmaceutical, diagnostics and/or other related healthcare sales; or minimum 1 year related healthcare sales experience and 1 year experience in a life science discipline.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Bi-lingual skills for certain territories preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license and maintenance of an acceptable driving record with no DUI's/suspensions for past 5 years. Must follow all applicable guidelines as set forth in the Company Fleet Management Program.
