Technical Service Delivery Analyst Job in London, London Uk
My client are a leading London Agency looking for a Technical Service Delivery Analyst for 3 months starting Monday 21st November.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Experience providing application support for Day CQ version 5 platforms
- Highly competent in Linux environments
- Expert in Tomcat/Apache/Cache configuration and management
- Proven experience in managing production java applications under Tomcat/Apache, must be at home in /var/logs, catalina.out and /etc/httpd/. Should like to read the contents of these in the bath.
- Experienced in Mysql sysadmin and use and administration of phpmyadmin (though we are not looking for a DBA, the candidate should know SQL/mysql language enough to navigate around a database system)
- Must understand networks and applications down to protocol level. Analysing packet captures shouldn’t faze them.
- Scripting ability in bash (perl a bonus)
- Should know what SOAP and RESTful services are and do and how you can use these from the command line.
- Should know what an API is and the basics of how you interface with them. If they’ve used APIs themselves and have a good understanding of web services, cloud services and what they are, this would be a bonus.
The remaining skills are listed in priority
· Cloud expertise/experience a bonus, particularly Rackspace and Amazon
· General CMS experience a plus (Java or PHP CMS considered)
· Solr/Lucene Indexing a plus
· Bit of IIS and Windows Server knowledge a plus. A healthy (and informed) distaste of it is even better.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Taking 3rd line technical escalations for investigations into production or QA incidents.
- Assistance to other Support Analysts with technical analysis and investigations related to your area of expertise.
- Provide expertise in the technologies employed in the solution.
- Ensuring tracking tickets for Service Requests, Incidents, and Problems are accurately completed.
- Undertaking assessments of incoming events, and answering and resolving them at the point of first contact where possible.
- Implementing Service Requests such as deployments, data extracts and content migrations
- Assisting in managing incident progression and providing updates to the client, ensuring all events are dealt with inside the required SLA.
- Managing escalations for those events that do not look like they will meet their SLA targets.
- Engaging third parties and suppliers where required, reporting issues to them or seeking information.
- Assisting the rest of the delivery team with the application of patches to the QA and production environments.
- Performing pro-active platform maintenance and developing technical solutions to enhance stability and operational effectiveness.
- Investigating incidents and preparing action plans.
- Participating in collaborative investigations with the client and other third parties.
- Execution of release activities.
- Execution of planned changes.
- Implementation of process improvements.
- Completion of release diaries during the release process.
- Contribution to the standards and best practice documents which will be developed by the team.
