Technical Service Engineer Job in Sheffield, Yorkshire Uk

Our client, a subsidiary of a major global company, is a leading specialist in industrial non-contact temperature measurement, flue gas combustion efficiency and stack emissions monitoring.  Well established for over a century and currently experiencing growth, our client requires a Technical Support Engineer to join their dedicated team.

You will be responsible for the servicing, commissioning and calibration of monitors and analysers for industrial infrared temperature measurement.  The role, although based in South Yorkshire will involve sustained period of travel, both within the UK and the rest of the world, depending on customer demand. 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

·         Supporting service contracts as required

·         Providing technical support to customers and internal operations

·         Commissioning and on-site calibration of equipment

·         Helping and advising customers using all communication methods

·         An understanding of the various routes to access technical, financial or administrative information

·         Supporting the design and implementation of improved processes and policy

·         Compliance to company, consumer and data protection procedures

·         Supporting other regions and customer service functions as required

·         Contribute to customer training requirements

·         Working within a performance and appraisal environment

You will have previous service experience within an engineering environment, and will ideally have a background in either infrared temperature measurement or combustion and environmental monitoring. 

You will be trained to HND/HNC level, and should be able to demonstrate significant experience in a technical and field service environment.  An instrumentation background is also desirable.
