Technical Service Engr Sr
Specific Job Description Technical Service Engineer for the MISO-P located in OCONUS/Qatar. OCONUS deployment will be 12 months. Provides all aspects of support for mobile and fixed site print systems; assists in the day to day operation of print production operations and provides expert advice with respect to print, bindery, and graphics related issues; receives equipment requiring repair and issues back to user upon completion; initiates, tracks, and records all requisitions, repair parts, materials, and equipment status; planning for hardware and software upgrades; provides technical assistance and support for testing, building, and installing new equipment; provides technical assistance via telephone, message, or personal on-site visit; supports mission requirements by configuring computer hardware and software to the optimal settings that will help improve workflow; to deploy for extended periods of time; aid users with the operation of the Military Information Support Operations Print ? Medium system; assists in the connection of commercial power requirements; assists operators, supply sergeants and commanders with identifying system components during property book inventories and provides copies of hand receipts; assists others in tracking and maintaining government spare equipment and parts; consults with original equipment manufacturers and vendors to determine solutions to unusual problems; mentors, on a one-on-one or one-on-many basis, print technologies with the soldiers and provide technical assistance and guidance to less experienced operators; presents operator level and maintenance training as required on the Kodak NexPress S3000 Digital Press, SEM disintegrator, Sterling Digibinder, Horizon Perfect Binder, Polar Cutters, Stitchers and other print and bindery equipment; help develop and revise training documents and procedure sheets for instruction on the proper setup of system equipment for daily operations; performs periodic maintenance, inspects, repairs and replaces parts as needed on all print systems and their supporting equipment; evaluate and troubleshoot print systems, including NexPress S3000 Digital Press, SEM disintegrator, Sterling Digibinder, Horizon Perfect Binder, Polar Cutters, Stitchers and other print and bindery equipment for current and potential deficiencies; analyzes, determines, and resolves the root cause of system software mis-configurations or hardware failures utilizing manufacturer documentation and troubleshooting procedures; minimizes system downtime by creating disaster recovery discs containing backup and restoration images and inspects, tests, and installs critical hardware and software updates and patches on computer related equipment. Provides expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshoots product and modifies product to customer requirements. Provides training to customers. Work may be done at customer site.
