Technical Services Director Job in Nashville 37203, Tennessee US

 

The Director Technical Services will be based in our Nashville, TN facility.  This individual will be responsible for the oversight and manageament of the Nashville team.  The candidate needs to be a dependable, strong, self-motivated leader who can work independently.  They will manage the day-to-day activity of the medical device repair center.  Duties include planning, organizing and controlling repair functions, directing managers and supervisors, leading hourly repair and clerical workers.  Also responsible for the accumulation and presentation of data for metrics to control and improve processes, and implementation of lean processes and automation to reduce costs and improve efficiency and quality.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

·         Supervises repair managers and employees to insure compliance to work instructions

·         Makes hiring and change of position recommendations

·         Measures efficiency, develops and posts metrics to ensure employees know their output and meet or exceed expected performance levels

·         Analyzes needs, then staffs and trains employees to meet workload and capacity targets

·         In coordination with QA/RA, measures, posts and provides corrective action for quality issues in department

·         Develops work instructions and procedures; conducts necessary training and documents

·         Insures that all employees correctly utilize ERP system for accuracy of transactions and resulting reports

·         Manages inventory levels and accuracy  to comply with metrics

·         Complies with all regulatory requirements from ISO, FDA, OSHA, etc.

·         Utilizes lean process engineering tools to evaluate non-value added elements and eliminates unnecessary costs

·         Coordinates all local facility, IT, system and personnel-related issues and manages all local vendors and service providers

·         Provides a CHIE environment for subordinates

 

Minumum Requirements

·         4 year degree (Management or Engineering)

·         5+ years in service related management - medical device experience a plus

·         Hands on experience and working knowledge of lean value analysis

·         Past development of work instructions and procedures-ISO experience a plus

·         Ability to effectively manage and motivate multiple levels of employees from managers to hourly employees

·         Ability to analyze and implement lean processes

·         Ability to work within and lead teams

·         Ability to work overtime as needed

·         Excellent analytical skills

·         Presentation skills

·         Strong interpersonal and technical skills

·         Strong organizational skills

·         Microsoft Office proficient – Google Apps for Business a plus

·         ERP understanding – NetSuite a plus

 

Essential Physical Requirements

·         Ability to walk and stand for up to four (4) hours

·         Ability to lift, tug, pull or carry up to forty (40) pounds
