TECHNICAL SOLUTION MANAGER

This role is responsible for the development and sales of IBM technical solutions directly to customers. They lead multinational, multi-discipline teams of subject-matter experts. They use a combination of IBM and non-IBM offerings, services, labour, assets, hardware, and software to meet client business requirements. They orchestrate the development of complex, multi-year, custom solutions and associated cost cases. The directions they establish are the foundation of IBM's solution and heavily influence sales, human resources, and contract and delivery strategies for the engagement. They are required to anticipate and develop and define innovative services solutions which match the customer's and IBM's tactical and strategic requirements. They own the definition of the services solutions and are the primary source of engagement management and solution design around the world and across technical disciplines. This assignment requires at least 75% travel, mainly U.S. with occasional travel overseas. The individual will lead and develop detailed technical solutions for large and complex outsourcing engagements. Candidates should possess a solid background in more than one of the following: Mid-Range/Server; PC/Desktop; Mainframe; Network; Security. Candidates must also have experience in the management of I/T service delivery organization. The position requires the gathering of technical requirements, the coordination of delivery organizations and vendors to build a solution and cost case, the writing of the technical statement of work and accountability for the overall technical outsourcing solution. The candidate must be able to work with minimal management direction and communicate well with client and IBM executives.
