SCOPE:
The Technical Specialist supports Mizuho OSI customers and Sales Representatives to resolve technical questions/issues and provide technical product support.
Performs the full range of technical services duties. Exercises sound independent judgment within established guidelines. Work is varied and may be somewhat difficult in nature. May provide work direction and training to lower level Technical Specialists.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understand, support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission Values Statements.
- Support company goals and objectives.
- Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI's internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).
- Act as primary contact person with Mizuho OSI customers and sales representatives to resolve technical problems and provide technical product support.
- As the key liaison technical business representative, interact with other Mizuho OSI departments, service providers and hospital operating room supervisors, nurses, doctors, purchasing, biomedical technicians and technical field service representatives.
- Coordinate and administer the flow of technical services for each service call.
- Develop, procure and follow up with customers, contracted field service, sales and production personnel over matters about parts orders, repair orders, technical information and field-dispatched repairs.
- Assist in the investigation of product issues or service programs.
- May develop and deliver service training.
- Support the Customer Resource Group with other tasks as designated and assigned.

Duties are performed while sitting at a desk for long periods of time. Required duties include operating a computer, reading, writing and using a telephone. Walking or standing within the office area may be required for the operation of office equipment and for attending meetings.
Some work activities will be performed on the production floor and handle products to solve technical problems. Some local (10% - 20%) or national travel may be required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to read technical drawings commonly developed in AutoCAD or other similar drawing programs that present mechanical, electrical and electronic technical information.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must speak fluent, grammatically correct English and possess verbal and written communication skills that are easily understood since this position heavily interfaces with the medical and engineering community. Excellent diplomacy and negotiation skills in order to handle distressed customers and technical and business situations at Mizuho OSI, and create successful internal relationships.
- Problem Solving Skills: Ability to quickly problem-solve and find solutions to problems as they arise with regards to client contact, logistics, procurement and product within the framework of OSI business practices.
- Organization Skills: Ability to follow-up, task ownership, enthusiasm and diligence to see tasks effectively communicated and completed.
- Computer Skills: Ability to efficiently use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) or possess a demonstrated aptitude and comfort level with windows based programs.
