    Role Summary/Purpose

    This Technical Support Engineer 6 will be customer focused and self-motivated in providing technical support of GE Digital Energy – Grid automation products to new and existing customers.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Technical Support Engineer 6 will:

  • Provide technical support to global customers in the application of grid automation (bay controllers, gateways, protocols, etc.) products through phone, email and site visits;
  • Provide immediate containment and driving closure of all customer issues;
  • Clear articulation and prioritization of customer issues;
  • Develop experiment setups and perform detailed troubleshooting through in-depth analysis of oscillography;
  • Interface with all departments to ensure completion of customer issues;
  • Write technical reports based on field performance;
  • Approving and issuing Return Materials Authorization (RMA) as required;
  • Solve level 2, level 3 cases in close cooperation with headquarters in Canada.

    Qualifications/Requirements

  • Electronics, Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent;
  • Strong background in control and grid automation (valued experience with D20, D400);
  • Hands on experience using power test equipment, including Omicron, etc.;
  • Very strong customer focus;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills;
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies;
  • Ability to lead and build consensus of cross-functional team to drive issues to closure;
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple assignments, consistently meeting deadlines;
  • Ready to do field services in customer sites up to 30% of the total time;
  • Fluent in English and Spanish;
  • Residence in Bilbao, Spain.
