To support Motion Control products via telephone, instant messaging, and e-mail. Provide important technical information to Allen-Bradley Brand customers, distributors, sales representatives, and service technicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide telephone consultation for customers, distributors, and Allen-Bradley sales and support engineers with problems on specific equipment. Recommended corrective action and trouble shooting approaches.
Keep Product Manager, Quality Assurance and department management informed of any outstanding product deficiencies and generate corrective action requests as required.
Remain knowledgeable of the product assigned to include changes, enhancements, modifications, as well as peripherals utilized with the product.
Generate technical notes as required.
Manage complex customer issues through to completion (reports, schedule service, final disposition, etc.)
Distribute the necessary documents for any motion/drive control or motion control system of the assigned product or products.
Assist in the development of any product documentation as assigned.
Must be able to travel when required (less than 10% of time).
Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
Ensures thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct, and trains and motivates subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.
Bachelors of Science degree in a Engineering or Computer Science.
Two plus years of related extensive experience with major Allen-Bradley products lines having industrial automation control field service experience with programming, motion control, drives and motor controls and systems.
Possess a sound knowledge of industrial codes and standards with extensive field service and customer exposure. The ability to interpret electrical schematics.
Proven ability to perform product system trouble shooting using telephone skills is necessary.
Ability to use electronic test equipment and software to solve systems and product problems.
Responsible for technical support of motion control products and various assigned projects.
