Technical Support Professional Job in Annapolis Junction, Maryland US
- Must be able to respond to Tier 2 support calls outside of normal business hours and weekends.
- Interfaces with end users to independently resolve problems concerning system function(s) which have been escalated through a problem ticket process and generally are outside of established processes and procedures.
- Reviews assessments of diagnostic information and determines alternatives.
- Communicates in representing the service delivery organization as the client interface from problem identification to problem resolution. Establishes and builds client relationships.
- Provides technical support to on-site and field customers. Responds to inquiries regarding the operational status of systems. Reviews operational procedures and recommends course of action.
- Resolves customer application questions or problems regarding system configurations/setup, product functionality and/or bugs enhancements.
- Communicates project status, deliverables, priorities and contingencies.
- Acts as liaison between project team members, customers and installation team to ensure project is implemented seamlessly.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and applies logical solutions to installation problems.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP useful
- Some knowledge of Unix (Solaris or Linux) or Windows NT/2000
- Intelligence Community experience preferred
- Degree preferred but not necessary. (4 years of experience without a degree)
- Equivalent would be an Associates Degree with 2 years of experience
- Equivalent would be a Bachelors Degree with 0 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field preferred
- Zero or more years of field or engineering experience
- Experience working with customer technology and support requirements
- Experience working with computer systems
- Experience working with the company's hardware, software and equipment products
- Experience working with various computer applications and ability to apply to situation
- Good interpersonal skills to communicate and work with customers and team members
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Good computer skills
