Technical Support Specialist Job in Columbia 21046, Maryland US
The Technical Support Specialist will provide Vectorworks customers with extensive product knowledge and the support needed to effectively answer customer questions and assist in the resolution of problems via the phone and/or internet. The Technical Support Specialist may also be called upon to provide in person training and demonstrations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide help desk tier 1 and tier 2 support to end users on a variety of issues
- Identify, research and resolve end users technical problems
- Respond to telephone calls, e-mail and other requests for technical support
- Deliver online training to end users and offices
- Assist in creation of content for different marketing materials, illustrations, videos, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Associates Degree, preferably in the Computer Sciences
- The equivalent technical training, the equivalent in relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills and abilities required:
- A minimum of Six months experience in a technical help desk or customer service environment
- Have proficient knowledge of Window and/or Macintosh operating systems
- The ability to obtain a thorough working knowledge of all vectorworks software applications
- Be familiar with prioritizing incoming calls, troubleshooting and working in a support database by documenting calls, issues, and questions for future referral
- Position requires use of discretion and professional judgment to deliver timely solution of problems in order to ensure customer satisfaction, eliminate downtime, and prevent cost overruns.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CAD or any other graphic software applications
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
· The ability to deliver effective training and software demonstrations
· The ability to travel to client sites and other company sponsored events. (Approximately 20%)
