VIA Information Systems, a division of VCA ANTECH (NASDAQ: WOOF), is a leading provider of veterinary healthcare software applications. We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide front-line hardware and software support to end user veterinary hospitals via telephone, email, and web conferencing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide quick response to client support requests in order to achieve a high level of client satisfaction
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve client support cases pertaining to server, workstation, network printing, or application issues
• Work with Developers, QA, and IT staff to resolve complex issues
• Maintain proper documentation of issues and resolution
• Develop and maintain a high level of product and business knowledge
• Additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Current CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-701) certification
• Current CompTIA A+ Practical Application (220-702) certification
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems in LAN environment; supporting database applications and networked printers is essential
• Understanding of routers, wireless access points, SQL Server database connectivity, and Crystal Reports a plus
• Bachelor's degree in a Technology field preferred; equivalent experience of 3 years in an technical support role may be considered
• Experience providing application support for healthcare or related business systems
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all levels; strong interpersonal skills required
• Excellent time management, issue management, and prioritization skills required
• Ability to work extended hours when needed
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
