Responsible for providing advanced technical support for FLIR’s Commercial Thermography image processing products. Duties shall include providing telephone and written correspondence regarding customer issues, technical problems and bug identification/documentation. Also plays a role in user training and new product development/testing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide technical support for a variety of infrared software and camera products via telephone, e-mail and web board. Typical support scenarios involve helping customers with limited computer skills in the following areas:
- Software installation/configuration.
- Loading drivers for USB/Firewire devices.
- Connecting and configuring Ethernet-based cameras.
- Providing step-by-step guidance with product usage.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex problems, including isolation and replication of software bugs.
• Document all bugs and change requests utilizing company standard software.
• Work closely with the Engineering group to assist with Beta testing of new products.
• Assist sales and marketing with product demonstrations and media content.
• Manage all aspects of CD/DVD media production.
• Support ITC administrative staff with IT related tasks.
• Maintain fluency on Windows operating systems (XP, Vista, 7) and Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Microsoft Word.
• Maintain fluency on iOS and Android OS to support FLIR apps.
• Perform other job-related duties as required by supervisor.
Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and a minimum of 3 years field experience. Experience with FLIR Thermography products and Level I or II Thermography certification is highly desirable. The ideal candidate is a self-starter requiring minimal supervision and excellent organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and work successfully in a dynamic environment. A high degree of computer literacy is required along with expertise utilizing Microsoft Windows and Office products, with emphasis on Microsoft Word. Must have a solid understanding of PC hardware interfaces and advanced troubleshooting procedures. Mac OS experience a plus. Good interpersonal and communications skills are critical. Some domestic and international travel may be required.
