Technical Support Technician - NOC Job
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support to customers by monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining server and network components that affect their business transactions in a 24x7 x365 Network Operations Center.
- Provide Tier 1.5 Troubleshooting and validation of alerts from an enterprise management alert console for UNIX, Windows, LINUX, and Cisco platforms.
- Create Trouble Tickets using Enterprise Ticket Management System for validated server and network issues and escalate to appropriate resolution queues.
- Work closely with Operations to resolve technical issues regarding Client Server and Network related Issues.
- Provide project and training related support to the NOC organization as directed by management.
Job Qualifications:
- College degree or 1-2 years related work experience supporting windows or Unix Based systems.
- Basic understanding of DNS, IIS, Apache, SQL, Oracle, Active Directory, MS Exchange, and FTP. Working knowledge of general TCP/IP networking and security devices such as firewalls and load balancers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and customer interface skills are required.
- Thorough knowledge of operations typically acquired through work experience within the organization.
- Detail oriented and ability to follow strict guidelines; Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Basic understanding of Windows, UNIX, LINUX and MCP+I
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP-IIS
- Familiarity with ITIL fundamentals
