Integration Engineer - Trainer, Algo Academy

Location: London

The Role

Algo Academy, the corporate training department of Algorithmics, has the responsibility to develop and deliver product-related training to external clients and internal employees. This role supports the Integration Engineering aspects of the Algo Academy mandate.

Accountability:

As an integral member of Algo Academy, you will be participating in the design and facilitation of training courses, using a variety of techniques and practices, in a classroom setting, one-on-one and using e-learning.

You will work with domain experts/SME’s within the organization to design/coordinate and develop training materials suitable for various audiences, including both employees (internal training) and clients (external training). You may be asked to deliver training sessions independently or as part of a multi-discipline team. You will also assist in maintaining and updating classroom visual aids, presentations, handouts, Data sets, and all other training documentation.

Periodic reviews of curriculum to implement changes to improve the overall quality of product training are also key aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate is adept at quickly picking up new concepts, synthesizing them with personal experience and knowledge, and concisely articulating them again.

Qualifications:

Competencies and Skills:

• Experience using Sun Solaris, AIX, and Windows

• Database experience with Oracle, Sybase, or DB2

• Experience with various script languages such as Shell script and PERL

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong presentation skills.

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong analytical and time management skills

• Self-motivated and able to work efficiently and independently

• Proficient in MS Office

• Previous experience in developing and delivering programs is an asset

• Willingness to travel – may be up to 50% of the job

Work Experience:

• experience in the financial services industry as Integration Engineer or similar capacity

Education:         

University degree in Engineering or Computer Science with working experience in financial industry. CSI or any related finance/investment training is an asset.
