Technical Writer
The Technical Writer will be well-versed in Electronic Security Systems and/or Information Technology documentation. The Technical Writer will:
- Establish documentation standards for projects based on customer direction and company best practices with regards to order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Organize materials and complete writing assignments in accordance with established standards.
- Edit and standardize materials prepared by other writers or project personnel.
- Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content.
- Develop outline (framework) for technical documents to be produced in accordance with customer documentation requirements.
- Draft initial documents as necessary, and task and coordinate collection of input needed from other project team members.
- Serve as configuration manager, to include establishment of project data repository.
- Establish and ensure adherence to configuration management procedures.
- Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
- Interview production and engineering personnel to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.
- Observe production, development, and test activities to determine operating procedure and detail.
- Confer with customer representatives and vendors to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.
- Draw sketches to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence.
- Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
- Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
- Assist in laying out material for publication and arrange for typing, duplication, and distribution of material.
- Review manufacturer's and trade materials, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment.
Job Requirements:
5-8 years technical writing for either Electronic Security projects or IT projects.
Experience with federal government projects preferred.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Literature or other related major.

Due to the nature of work performed in our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Candidate must have active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance to be considered for this position. Top Secret clearance preferred.
